Spark the Journey is a nonprofit organization that provides mentorship and a community of support for young adults to chart their own paths to achieving college and career success. Spark the Journey is continuing Capital Partners for Education’s legacy and is growing into a national community. Today, Spark the Journey supports more than 500 mentees as they enter young adulthood. Spark the Journey’s unique mentorship approach fosters long-lasting relationships between mentors and mentees as young adults choose and pursue the education, career path, or personal goals they want to achieve—with a community of support behind them.
The Program Coordinator (PC) is a part of the Programs High School team. The PC helps Spark achieve its organizational goals of student college enrollment, persistence, and completion by coordinating support for a caseload of student-mentor pairs. Additionally, the Program Coordinator supports program events and training sessions. The position reports to the Program Manager.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Spark is currently operating on a 100% remote work policy with a planned return-to-office. Since the success of this role depends upon developing strong local relationships, in-person work will be expected when it is safe to do so. Therefore, when Spark returns to working in an office, the person in this role will be expected to relocate to the Washington, D.C. metro area in order to fulfill their responsibilities.
