JOB ALERT | Full-Time Program Assistant
The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers in China, Europe, India, the Middle East, Russia, and the United States, is seeking a program assistant to work with scholars in its DC-based Technology and International Affairs program.
The program assistant will play a central coordinating role in the Technology and International Affairs program's operational activities. This includes events planning, external communications, project management, finance and development, and scheduling. They will serve as the program's liaison with Carnegie's global centers, other Carnegie research programs, and non-research departments within the DC office such as communications and development. The program assistant will also provide occasional research support to senior scholars on technology and cybersecurity policy issues on an ad hoc basis.
Preferred candidates will have a bachelor's degree and up to one year of related experience. Candidates should be able to balance multiple competing tasks and manage tight deadlines and must possess a high degree of reliability, attention to detail, and a can-do attitude marked by flexibility and cooperation. Candidates should also possess people skills and comfort working with senior officials from governments, industry, and civil society. Passion for technology and/or international affairs issues--for example, cybersecurity, cloud, machine learning and artificial intelligence, biotechnology, or space--is a plus.
