JOB ALERT | Full-Time Executive Assistant for DC Nonprofit
Food & Friends provides medically-tailored meals, nutrition counseling, and friendship to people living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses. Our team of sixty employees and thousands of volunteers delivers meals and hope to people living in the District of Columbia and several counties across Maryland and Virginia. There is no charge or income qualification for our services, which are rendered solely on the basis of medical need.
We seek an Executive Assistant to provide administrative support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors.
Must be available to work some evenings and be willing to work in a traditional office environment.
The successful candidate will have at least two years of senior administrative experience, including experience reporting to an executive or other comparable individual. Must have experience drafting correspondence and taking meeting minutes. Other qualifications include a valid driver’s license; strong knowledge of MS Office, including Outlook; excellent verbal and written communication skills; sense of tact and diplomacy; superb organization and time management skills; keen sense of confidentiality; and an appreciation for diversity. Nonprofit experience a plus. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test and proof of vaccination---including booster---against COVID-19 (exemption from vaccination requirement will be considered for disability or a sincerely held religious belief, practice, or observance).
