Miriam’s Kitchen has shown steady growth over the years and as of FY2023 has a $ 10 million organizational budget with about half of revenue coming from private sources (individuals, corporations, and foundations) and aimed for continued growth. To support continued, Miriam’s Kitchen invites applications for the entry level position of Development Assistant.
Reporting directly to the Development Manager, the Gift Processing Assistant is the primary administrative and technical person in our donor records database (Salesforce). Among other tasks, the Gift Processing Assistant will be responsible for accurately entering received check donations, consistently coding donor and donation information in Salesforce based on the foundation’s gift coding policy. They ensure that donation acknowledgments are processed within one week of the donation receipt.
Hybrid (a blend of remote and onsite) work schedule with 2-3 days per week in the office. After-hours project work and representing Miriam’s Kitchen at community events is sometimes required. This position occasionally requires local travel between Miriam's Kitchen and partner sites.
This is a full-time (40 hours), hybrid position in Washington, DC (2-3 days in office per week). You may be asked on occasion to help support events outside of regular business hours (nights or weekends).
This will be a highly resourceful team player, have excellent organizational skills, and highly detail-oriented. They are comfortable working independently or with an ad hoc team in a time-constrained environment while maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and flexibility. A professional and confidential demeanor is of the utmost importance in this role.
