The Public Justice Food Project seeks a Food Project Communications Internfor summer 2021 to join the Food Project team in our communications and outreach efforts.

The Public Justice Food Project is the only legal project in the country focused solely on dismantling industrial animal agriculture and supporting a vision of animal agriculture that is sustainable, humane, and owned by independent farmers. We believe we cannot make change alone, and that we must align ourselves with allies across movement sectors and combine litigation with basebuilding and narrative shift to create meaningful and lasting change.

Position Summary: The Food Project Communications Intern supports the Food Project team by creating written and visual content to engage different audiences, and expand people’s understanding of issues surrounding food, farming, work, climate, racial inequity, and more. This intern will also help with other communications and basebuilding efforts.

We are seeking applicants looking for communications, non-profit, and advocacy experience. Through this internship, you will gain valuable experience in advocacy-oriented writing, digital strategies, and organizing. The ideal candidate for this position is a self-starter, with strong verbal and written communications skills, and an interest in the nonprofit sector. The position is a remote position due to the pandemic, but the intern must be physically based in D.C., Virginia, Maryland, or California. Applicants based in other states may inquire about eligibility.

This is a paid position that pays $15/hour. The intern will work 15-30 hours a week for a minimum of eight weeks. Start and end dates, as well as exact hours during the week, are flexible.
