How to get mental health or addiction help

The DC Department of Behavioral Health prevents, treats and supports recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.  Call 1-888-7WE-HELP (1-888-793-4357) anytime to connect with a mental health or substance use disorder provider located near you.  You also can call the substance use disorder Assessment and Referral Center at (202) 727-8473 Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. to schedule an appointment or walk in without an appointment at 75 P Street NE. It is essential to find the necessary treatment and support to move forward on the journey of recovery.

Language and sign language interpretation services are available for limited or no English speaking individuals.

You also can get information to help you or someone you care about understand more about mental illness, symptoms and treatment, and how to promote good mental health from a number of local and national organizations.
