Metropolitan Wellness Center, a dispensary in Capitol Hill has broken down the process so easy, you can even schedule an appointment online with an approved doctor or nurse practitioner to get your medical recommendation! And don’t forget, there are now two medical marijuana dispensaries east of the river: Anacostia Organics in Ward 8 and Cannabiliss in Ward 7. Both dispensaries are minority-owned!

  • DC law allows you to purchase up to four ounces a month.

  • You don’t have to get a referral from your regular doctor, you can book an appointment online (see below) with a nurse practitioner or doctor already approved to provide the medical authorization

How to Get or Renew a Medical Marijuana Card

Whether you are getting your card for the first time or renewing your existing card, the process is the same. Once you complete all 3 steps below, it usually takes around one month to receive your card from the Department of Health.
