We are the largest U.S.-based provider of Hostile Environments & Emergency First Aid Training. Our clients are about evenly split between news organizations and nonprofit aid, development, research or human rights groups. Based outside Washington, D.C., we train around the world regularly in locations including New York, Miami Nairobi, Istanbul, Kinshasa, Guatemala City, Bogota and Bangkok.

We are looking for a recent college or grad school graduate to join our team. You would work at least 20 hours a week to start—at competitive rates, depending upon your qualifications and experience—with the explicit hope and expectation that the internship would grow into a permanent position.

Your tasks would be eclectic and a mixture of administrative and logistical support as well as assistance with training and simulation scenarios. Language capabilities in Spanish or French, especially, would be a plus. Any knowledge of self-defense, martial arts and women’s self-defense, in particular, would be another asset. We would consider any mind-body practices like yoga to be valuable as well. Our training uniquely incorporates tactical military and emergency medical skills with personal safety and self-defense along with resilience and stress management techniques as well as other matters like digital safety. If you have the right outlook and base understanding and also fit in well with our team, we will train you in additional skills.

You must be team-oriented, have a can-do attitude and know how to resolve problems as they arise. We are growing and our looking for smart, capable, motivated and inspiring people to join our team.
