FUNDRAISER ALERT | Deanwood Community Beautification & Clean Up
“My name is Patricia Stamper and I live in Ward 7 of the District of Columbia. I am involved in my Ward 7 community in different aspects such as education, voter engagement and community advocacy. I am the Secretary of the Deanwood Citizens Association. I am a member of the Capitol View Civic Association. I am the Parlamartian of the Ward 7 Education Council. I am a part of the Fletcher Johnson Taskforce Communication Committee. I am a member of the Friends of Deanwood Library and Friends of Deanwood Recreation respectively. I am also involved with the Friends of DC Street Car group as well. However, I am very passionate about the beautification of Ward 7 specifically the Deanwood, Capitol View, Marshall Heights and Benning Ridge neighborhoods which in my opinion need more support in the area of beautification. I simply started in my neighborhood of Deanwood by going out the day after our trash has been picked up and simply pick up the loose litter on my block. I quickly found more litter down the my block and in the near by public alley. My family and I clean our block at least once a month and our public alley we clean it once every other month. I raise funds in order to have a community beautification and clean up day starting in the Deanwood neighborhood and eventually branching out to Capitol View, Marshall Heights and the Benning Ridge neighborhoods.
