DOEE seeks Energy Assistance Processor - $45k to $60k

This position is located in the Energy Administration, Affordability & Efficiency Division, Energy Affordability Branch.  The primary purpose of this position is to administer the energy assistance program of the Unit by providing assistance and guidance to the customers in completing energy and utility assistance requests.

Duties and Responsibilities

Communicate with various major DC utility companies that provide electricity, gas, water, telephone service, area home heating oil vendors, and coordinates with appropriate District officials to acquire and maintain continuous service and information regarding the EA programs.  Answer inquiries about DOEE programs or refer inquiries to an appropriate staff member and resolves any conflicts that may arise.

Implement new directives, instructions, and procedures. Ensure that both Federal and District program goals and objectives are being achieved, and recommend changes or modifications of policies and/or procedures to improve the delivery of services.   Receive files, and archive correspondence, records, and reports. Maintain office filing systems, both hard copy and digital.  Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Education

Strong ability to create effective working relationships with a wide variety of individuals in order to create a positive outcome.  Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, both orally and in writing, with a wide audience of individuals in order to promote program activities and objectives.  Ability to operate Microsoft Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook; and, other software associated with the job.  Skill in the usage of a personal computer and related software in order to process applications, reports, and other necessary documents and materials.
