Come join us to see who makes it through the qualifying for our exclusive Cuba Trip Slam! For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken-word performers.  Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.

$5.00 + Tax and fees online. $8.00 (tax and fees included) at the door!

Slam Qualifications

Please consider the following requirements below before registering for the slam. If you cannot meet any of the following requirements, you are unfortunately not eligible to qualify for the slam.

In the case of possibly advancing to the final round, participants should be available for the following dates and times:

• First Round: December 17th | 7:00 pm-9:00 pm EST | Anacostia Busboys and Poets

• Final Stage: Early January - Date, And TimeTBD | Embassy of Cuba

Trip to Cuba:

• The winner of the final stage will be given an all-inclusive trip (one person) to Havana Cuba February 8-13, 2023, for the 31st International Book Fair. The experience will be provided courtesy of Busboys and Poets. . For more information about the trip, please visit BusboysandPoets.com/Cuba2023

• The winner will also be given the opportunity to perform in Havanna.

• Must be 18 and older to compete

• Valid Passport needed by January 2nd, 2023. Must be valid through March 2023
