⭐ Dec 16 | Closing Reception for 'Dap is a Love Language' Exhibit [SP]

Join us for the closing reception of the 'Dap is a Love Language' exhibit at Honfleur Gallery! Enjoy an evening of local arts & culture, good vibes, and holiday treats in the heart of the Historic Anacostia Arts District. Admission is free!

The "Dap is a Love Language" exhibition is a visual love letter to native Washingtonians that explores how the Black man's handshake creates and sustains community.

A multi-media experience, this exhibit features artistic works created by youth participants in the 'Dap is a Love Language' Arts Workshop. With the guidance of photographers Joseph Edwards and Ed Underwood, students walked through the Anacostia neighborhood as photojournalists, telling the story of Dap in the community. The exhibit features compelling photos and interviews with local artists, activists, and entrepreneurs.

This event is co-sponsored by The Dap Project, Honfleur Gallery, and the Valley Place Arts Collaborative. A Community Heritage grant from HumanitiesDC supports this project, as well as funding from ARCH Development.
