DC UNEMPLOYMENT | About Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC)

Eligible claimants can file for PEUC.

1. PEUC is available to claimants who established a claim with a benefit year ending after July 1, 2019 and who have either exhausted their entitlement or whose benefit year has expired.

2. 53 additional weeks of UI benefits, plus $300 FPUC.

3. The initial 13 weeks of PEUC are effective March 29, 2020 through December 26, 2020.

4. The additional 11-week extension of PEUC implemented by the Continued Assistance Act (CAA) is effective December 27, 2020 through March 13, 2021.

5. The additional 29-week extension of PEUC implemented by the American Rescue Plan Act is effective March 14, 2021 through September 4, 2021.

6. Your PEUC weekly benefit amount (WBA) is the same as the amount payable on your qualifying regular UI claim.
