D.C. Office of Human Rights seeks Chief Administrative Law Judge - $116k to $139k

This position is with the District of Columbia Commission on Human Rights (“Commission”), a quasi-independent unit located within the District of Columbia Office of Human Rights (“OHR”). The mission of the OHR is to investigate and resolve illegal discrimination complaints in employment, housing, public accommodations, and educational institutions, by enforcing federal and District of Columbia civil and human rights laws, regulations, and executive orders. The Commission adjudicates those claims under the District of Columbia Human Rights Act where the OHR has found probable cause to believe discrimination has occurred. Additionally, the Commission is charged with determining the appropriate fines for alleged violations of the Fair Criminal Record Screening Act and processing appeals of ineligibility determinations made under the Criminal Background Checks for the Protection of Youth Act.

Position Overview                                                                                                                         

The incumbent works under the general administrative direction of the Director of the Office of Human Rights and is granted broad authority on short and long-term matters affecting hearings before the Commission.
