DC Bar seeks Program Specialist
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center has an immediate opening for a Program Specialist to provide paralegal, research and administrative support to the Pro Bono Center’s programs and publicly interface with clients and customers. This position reports to the Managing Attorney (MA).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates and supports the Pro Bono Center’s client service and provides support to attorneys managing the Pro Bono Center’s clinics and resource centers, to include: interviewing prospective clients by telephone.
Provides on-site support at D.C. Superior Court on at least a weekly basis, serving as the first point of contact with all customers and maintains records of services.
Oversees and trains volunteers and manages clients while providing on-site support at the Advocacy & Justice Clinics and Advice & Referral Clinics.
Prepares program and grant reports; provides research and administrative support to Pro Bono Center programs and drafts and edits memos and other correspondence.
Accurately updates the Pro Bono Center’s client, case and volunteer data, and helps devise and implement system improvements.
Records information about outcomes achieved and the impact of pro bono services on our client population.
Coordinates and supports various other Pro Bono Center projects, including back-up support in responding to client requests on the Legal Information Help Line to provide accurate and reliable information on civil legal issues.
Provides administrative support to the Pro Bono Center’s special projects and volunteer training program.
Performs other duties as assigned.
