Arrest Made in Offenses in the Seventh District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Seventh District announce an arrest has been made in an Attempted Armed Carjacking and Assault with Intent to Kill offenses that occurred on Monday, April 26, 2021, in the Seventh District.
At approximately 9:03 pm, in the 800 block of Barnaby Street, Southeast, the suspect approached the victim, who was exiting a vehicle. The suspect brandished an unknown object, struck the victim, and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied. The suspect entered the victim’s vehicle, but was unsuccessful in taking the vehicle. The suspect fled the scene on foot. CCN: 21-053-268
At approximately 9:04 pm Seventh Districts units received a call for a stabbing in the 600 block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast. When units arrived, they located the victim on the ground suffering from a severe laceration. DC Fire and Emergency Medical Services responded to the scene and transported the victim to an area hospital for life-threatening injuries. CCN: 21-053-287
On Monday, April 26, 2021, 26-year-old Trevaun Simon, of no fixed address, was arrested and charged with Armed Carjacking and Assault with Intent to Kill.
