Arrest Made in Armed Offenses that Occurred in the Seventh District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made and additional suspects are sought in reference to armed offenses that occurred on Wednesday, March 8, 2023, in the Seventh District.
Armed Carjacking (Gun)
At approximately 4:00 am a ride share driver was stopped at the intersection of 1stand Atlantic Streets Southeast. A suspect approached the victim’s vehicle, brandished a handgun, and demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied. The vehicle has been recovered. CCN: 23-036-481
Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun) and Theft One (Stolen Auto)
At approximately 10:50 am, the victim was making a delivery and left their vehicle unlocked and running in the Unit block of Chesapeake Street, Southeast. The suspects entered the victim’s vehicle. When the victim approached their vehicle one of the suspects brandish a handgun and pointed it at the victim. The suspects fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle. The vehicle has been recovered. On Friday, June 16, 2023, pursuant to a DC Superior Court custody order, a 17-year-old juvenile male of Southeast, DC, was arrested and charged with the above offenses.
