Arrest Made in Armed Carjacking (Gun) Offenses in the District

Detectives from the Metropolitan Police Department's Carjacking Task Force announce an arrest has been made in reference to Armed Carjacking (Gun) offenses that occurred in the District.
On Wednesday, May 17, 2023, members of the Violent Crime Suppression Division and the Carjacking Task Force arrested a 17-year-old juvenile male, of Northwest, DC. He has been charged with the below offenses:
On Thursday, April 27, 2023, at approximately 7:24 am, the suspects exited a vehicle and approached the victim, who was seated in a vehicle, in the 800 block of K Street, Northeast. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim to exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the vehicles. CCN: 23065224
Tuesday, May 16, 2023, at approximately 11:30 am, the suspects approached the victim, who was seated in a vehicle, in the 600 block of Butternut Street, Northwest. The suspects brandished handguns and demanded the victim to exit the vehicle. The victim complied and the suspects fled the scene in the vehicle. CCN: 23077415
At the time of his arrest, three handguns were recovered. He was additionally charged with Possession of an Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Possession of a Large Capacity Ammunition Feeding Device.
These cases remain under investigation.
