Jan 12 - 29 | [gay] Cymbeline @ Anacostia Arts Center

NOW PLAYING AT THE ANACOSTIA ARTS CENTER!
1231 Good Hope Rd SE
Washington, DC 20020

What happens when you take a 400-year-old English play with 75% male characters, recreate it as a lesbian love story with mostly female actors, and present it in a community-focused arts center in diverse, dynamic Washington, DC?

Theatre Prometheus is excited to answer that question with a groundbreaking production of one of William Shakespeare’s most complex plays.

Part comedy, part tragedy, part thriller, and part romance, our [gay] Cymbeline will explore themes of sexuality, homophobia, gender identity, and gender roles — and, in doing so, will reveal Shakespeare’s world to be surprisingly similar and relevant to our own.
