Orchestra Concert at THEARC
Town Hall Education Arts Recreation Center, 1901 Mississippi Avenue SE, Washington, D.C. 20020
Saturday, January 7, 2017, 2 p.m.
The entire National Symphony Orchestra reunites with Grammy(r)-nominated beatboxer/multi-instrumentalist Christylez Bacon and wildly original electric cellist/composer Wytold for a crash course in the fundamentals of remixing! With a flair for fresh art forms like progressive Hip Hop, live-looping, and instrumental innovation, this dynamic D.C. duo brings a jam-packed program filled with all sorts of unique and clever twists. Through beatboxing, improvising, and other creative techniques, Christylez Bacon and Wytold are ready to take Pachelbel's Canon and Bach's Cello Suite No. 1--plus other classical masterpieces featured everywhere from movies to TV to weddings--and make them completely their own. Stay after the performance for the Musical Instrument "Petting Zoo!"
Performance Timing: 1 hour, with no intermission
