SUMMARY:
The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), a 501(c) (3) nonprofit organization for equal rights, seeks a highly experienced Director of Economic Partnerships and Development to manage the partnerships and the development of training curricula and strategy for the NAACP Economic Department. The Director of Economic Partnerships and Development will manage the partnerships with consultants and other community partners that interface with the NAACP Economic Department. He or she will also work with the Senior Director of Economic Development to orchestrate the community mobilization efforts toward the goal of assisting NAACP State Conferences and local NAACP units on how to access materials and resources to improve the economic conditions of families and communities.

SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
  • Develop and manage professional relationships with consultants, nonprofit and government partners, and other community organizations.
  • Ensure consistency in program and project management across partnerships, including those designed to help citizens with business development, entrepreneurship, mortgage loan modification, credit repair, employment, and contract opportunities. 
  • Strategically manage information and data gathered through partnerships with consultants and other partners; organize and facilitate the tracking of best-practice research and implementation models; vet the insights and work with partners to produce content (financial literacy materials, user-friendly “how-to-guides,” training manuals, advocacy reports, articles, and issue briefs) relevant for the NAACP local units.
  • Design, coordinate and evaluate multi-faceted advocacy campaigns on economic issues; develop and direct grassroots strategies to mobilize units, members and stakeholders to advance the NAACP’s strategic economic development and financial industry “watchdog” goals and objectives;
  • Provide organizational operational support for the following: 
o Partnership development
o Resource development
o Training curriculum development
o Budget development
  • Support proposal development and other grant-writing or development activities as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by the Senior Director of the Economic Department, Executive Vice President of Programs, Chief Operating Officer, and President and CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • At least 5 years of demonstrated experience managing community partners, government agencies, and consultants.
  • Doctorate or Master of Science degree in Public Policy or Social Science field of study, preferred (economics, business, sociology, urban studies/planning, etc).
  • Experience in consulting or other environments that require quick delivery of high‐level results.
  • Excellent analytic, writing, and verbal presentation skills and track record of producing reputable publications.
  • A working understanding of NAACP structure, policy, procedures and goals.
  • Candidate must possess strong interpersonal, conflict resolution and communications skills. 
  • Candidate must demonstrate a passion for advocating for the elimination of socioeconomic policies and practices that lead to racial and ethnic disparities. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work with diverse team members and coordinate multiple activities and tasks.
  • Ability to travel upon request.
