The following positions are open for THE BETTER WAY PROGRAM.
The Better Way Program is under the auspices of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Therapeutic Services, Inc.
(PRBTS).
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – serve at the pleasure of the Governing Board, PRBTS.,Inc./The Better
Way Program. The Executive Director is the Chief Operating Officer for the Program. He or she is
responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the organization, and implementing such
policies as may be adopted by the Board of Trustees. Provides management to all program entities
and staff. Is responsible for overseeing the orderly growth and implementation of innovative
strategies for the effectiveness of the organization. He or she is required to attend monthy board
meetings and submit monthly reports. He or she shall ensure that The Better Way Program
operates in compliance with its duly adopted By-laws, Policies, Occupational Safety and Health Act
and the District of Columbia Register Chapter 23 Operating Rules, which reflect current best
practice. This is a full-time position, salary is negotiable.
PROGRAM MANAGER – provide therapeutic aid to adult male and female individuals requiring
assistance in recovering from chemical dependency, domestic violence, co-dependency, and other
therapeutic issues. Supervise the work of other clinicians and work under limited supervision, with
considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. Attend monthy staff
meetings and bi-monthly in-house trainings. Provides technical assistance and guidance in
developing and implementing treatment plans. Conduct a ninety (90) day treatment plan review
with assigned clients. Prepare monthly statistical and narrative reports for supervisor, including
but not limited to the Program’s required reporting and demographical and statistical information
as designated.
Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in Human Service and /or related area, Bachelor’s
degree in Social Science of related area. License in Counseling/Social Work, Certified Addictions
Counselor (CAC) Level I or Level II, Master Advance Counselor, Certified Temperament Counselor.
This is a full-time position, salary is negotiable.
CLINICAL DIRECTOR - provides guidance and supervision to the clinical staff of Treatment
Program. Applicants should be knowledgeable of substance abuse and mental health. Conduct
chemical dependency orientation sessions with all incoming clients. Orient clients to available
treatment options; refer and place clients in treatment programs appropriate to clients’ individual
needs. Only applicants licensed to practice in the District of Columbia will be granted interviews.
(i.e. LICSW (Social Worker) Certified Addictions Counselor (CAC) Level I or II and knowledge of
chemical dependency. This is a part-time position, salary is negotiable.
