UPDATE: According to General Services Administration spokeswoman Jackeline Stewart, the GSA plans to move forward with the next phase of the Department of Homeland Security consolidation. The cancelled presolicitation was for construction management services, not for renovations to the Center Building itself. Stewart said the GSA expects to award a contract for that work by the end of the fiscal year.
The General Services Administration has canceled a presolicitation for the next multimillion-dollar phase of the Department of Homeland Security's consolidation at St. Elizabeths for undisclosed reasons, raising the prospect that the project, over budget and years past its scheduled completion, could be further delayed.
Representatives for the GSA could not be reached for comment about the cancellation or the reasons for it, but I will update this post as I get more information.
