It was great while it lasted
The neon art that was installed as part of LUMEN8ANACOSTIA 2013 is no more. Many thanks to Craig Kraft (soon to be an Anacostia resident) who donated use of the light sculptures free of charge. The neon lights was a great way to "lumen8" the corner of Good Hope and MLK Ave SE and welcome visitors to Anacostia's emerging arts district, especially after the Anacostia sign went dark. There was a request from the neighborhood to have the artwork deinstalled so it came down today. I was very sorry to see it go. I am sure the lights will be missed but it was a great run! Here is to hoping that the Anacostia sign is relit soon! :)
