Gabriela Bulisova is a documentary photographer and multimedia artist based in the Washington, DC area. Her work focuses on underreported and overlooked stories affecting marginalized populations around the world and in the United States. Work from a project about a returning citizen in an East of the River community is included in this exhibit.
Yvon Fleurival is a Haitian-born, Southeast, Washington, DC-based painter. Through his work he seeks to emulate the internal synergy of a dreamer and an abundance of sounds and to create a rhapsody exemplifying the spirit of the Haitian culture.
Rik Freeman is a painter based in Northeast, Washington, DC. His figurative paintings trace the cultural impacts of African diaspora communities in the US and abroad. The painting included in this exhibit explores the influence of Samba music in the Brazilian state Bahia.
Lawrence Green is a photographer, filmmaker, web designer, and DJ based in Southeast, Washington, DC. He seeks out moments of stillness in his photography, as seen in his works included in this exhibit.

Malik M. Lloyd is an artist based in Southeast, Washington, DC. Trained as an illustrator, his art explores the African American religious and historical experience.
Bruce McNeil is a photographer based in Southeast, Washington, DC. The Anacostia River has long served as his inspiration and subject, and his work continues to convey the river in new ways.
Luis Peralta Del Valle is an artist based in Southeast, Washington, DC. Peralta works both in his studio and in communities throughout DC. His works in this exhibit are from his Freedom Series, in which he blends iconic American symbols of democracy into a representation of the freedom we are able to achieve.
Amber Robles-Gordon is a mixed-media artist based in Southeast, Washington, DC. She considers her creations visual representations of her hybridism: fusions of her gender, ethnicity, cultural, and social experiences.
James Terrell is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Northeast, Washington, DC. His figurative works included in this exhibit convey his dual interest in painting and music. His paintings incorporate ideas of ancestry and identity alongside formal concerns of color and composition.
