We have very exciting news to share about our nationwide design competition. Last week our amazing Jury interviewed design teams from across the country. Some of the most talented architects, landscape architects and structural engineers traveled to Washington D.C. all vying to be selected as one of the four final teams who will create full renderings and plans for our 11th Street Bridge Park. After an intense and thoughtful day of interviews, our jury selected the teams below. We can't wait to see their work!

11th Street Bridge Park Receives Prince Charitable Trusts Grant
 | We are very pleased to report that the Prince Charitable Trusts are making a generous $25,000 grant to help support the 11th Street Bridge Park. The Prince Charitable Trusts were established in 1947 from the bequests of Frederick Henry Prince and his wife, Abbie Norman Prince. The three trusts operate as a family foundation with giving programs in the city of Chicago, the Washington D.C. metropolitan area and the state of Rhode Island. With this gift, we have secured over $840,000 towards our $1 million pre-captial campaign launched late last summer. |
Economic Studies Now Available
 | Over four months this spring, graduate students from Virginia Tech’s Urban Affairs and Planning Program examined community and economic development opportunities related to the 11th Street Bridge Park. Topics included: how nearby small businesses and artists can create synergies as the park develops; how Ward 6, 7 and 8 projects might be leveraged for increased economic opportunities; and creative ideas to maintain and operate the park in the future. What's Next?
We have been invited to give a presentation about the 11th Street Bridge Park to the Near Southeast Community Partners on June 16. Best of all, the presentation will be on a boat cruising the Anacostia River! For more information on the event (which is a fundraiser for NSCP), click here.
Our good friends at Autodesk invited us to participate in a June 27th program entitled "Engaging the American People - Building Support for the Importance of Infrastructure Policy" at the National Press Club. Fellow panelists will include Congressman John Delaney, the Executive Director of the American Society of Civil Engineers and industry leaders. What a wonderful way to share our project and build more champions.
