Vibrant Streets Presents : 'Reimagine MLK' event in Congress Heights
What: Reimagine MLK: A Temporary Urbanism event
Where: 3100 MLK Jr. Ave SE
Hosted by: DC Office of Planning, Streetsense, Vibrant Streets, and Ward 8 community groups
Another great event part of the Vibrant Streets program! This event brought members of the community together in positivity, in hope and in imagination. There was local entertainment, free food, retail maps, storefront renderings, and information on the Vibrant Streets Toolkit. Ward 8 residents were able to contribute their thoughts and ideas to what would make MLK Avenue in Congress Heights a "vibrant" street. There was so many people in attendance that every single community survey was completed! How is that for community input?!
I've said before how much I have really enjoyed and was impressed by the Vibrant Streets Toolkit. We can all agree that we can use more quality retail and services on our main street. I really believe the toolkit can help us do that. If you can please attend the next meeting next week! You won't regret it!
