If you see a theme with my editorials as of late then you would be right. I really want to provoke/agitate/encourage people to look beyond the hype (and the fear) and at some real numbers.
I am not saying I have all the answers but I am asking you to question the rhetoric and take a long and hard look at what we need in Ward 8 so we know what exactly to ask for. I understand that "gentrification" is a controversial term but so is the reality of "ghetto-fication" and I want us all to be aware, prepared, and most importantly active. We have to get away from the notion of accepting what we hear as fact without doing our own research. Fear is the great motivator of the uninspired.
