WIT's Intro to Improv Workshops are low-stress, one-time, 2-hr classes focused on creativity, communications, and teamwork. They are taught by our enthusiastic and professional instructors who establish a fun and trusting atmosphere.
Improv is a way to use your creativity, meet adventurous new people, and escape everything with a couple of hours of laughing.
If you're a local near the historic Anacostia region, you should:
1. See some improv on Friday, October 18th at 8PM
2. Try your hand at it in the afternoon Saturday, October 19th
3. See more improv that night, (October 19th) at 8PM!
FAQ
Do I have to be "funny" to take an improv workshop?
Heck no. If you have a great sense of humor already, that's awesome; our workshop is definitely for you. But improv is about finding the humor and fun in yourself and in the world around you. The only prerequisites for our introductory workshops are an open mind and a desire to have fun.
Are there any age restrictions for the workshop?
Our free introductory workshops are fairly family friendly, ages 13+. Our classes are for students ages 18 and older. We do not offer classes for children or teenagers at this time.
What should I bring to class with me?
Wear comfortable clothes that will allow you to move around. You may want to dress in layers in case you get hot or cold. Many classes take a break in the middle so you may want a snack or a drink for that. A small notebook to jot down your improv epiphanies isn't a bad idea, but no other materials are necessary.
I love this improv stuff! I'd love to take a class at WIT!
Awesome! You should check out our website here and get added to our mailing list here.
