Closure of 11th Street Local Bridge on September 7, 2013
11th Street SE Closed Between Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE and
M Street SE for Community Celebration and Bridge Dedication

(Washington D.C.) As part of the 11th Street Local Bridge Community Celebration and Bridge Dedication, the District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the 11th Street Local Bridge on Saturday, September 7, 2013 from approximately 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

During the celebration, access to 11th Street SE will be closed between Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE and M Street SE. The northbound I-295 and southbound DC 295 exit ramps to 11th Street, SE will remain open for access to Anacostia. (See map below for more details.) Electronic message boards will be in place to alert and guide the traveling public in this area.

DETOURS

· Motorists seeking access to the Capitol Hill / Navy Yard area from Historic Anacostia will follow the posted detour to Howard Road SE, then onto northbound I-295 to M Street SE.
· Motorists seeking access to Historic Anacostia from the Capitol Hill / Navy Yard area will be detoured to the southbound I-295 on-ramp at M Street SE to follow the posted detour to Howard Road SE and Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.
