Tweeting for their lives: 3 harrowing tales of trips to "Anacostia"

I hope you can pick up my sarcasm here. I've been covering these tweets for months and I am still no closer to understanding them. I can only hope by continuing to spotlight them to take some of the sting out of the hate and fear and to perhaps show that that those who are telling our story perhaps haven't even found the book. Heck, I bet dollars to doughnuts most (if not all) of these tweeters don't even know where the Anacostia neighborhood is located.

And because I like to balance some of the ignorance and negativity with knowledge and truth including a slidehow of pictures that were taken in the Anacostia neighoborhood. Spoiler Alert: no one was murdered/raped/robbed in the making of this slideshow. ;)
