On Saturday, December 1st, 12pm - 4pm The HIVE 2.0 in Anacostia will be hosting the Startup Market + Chaya Startup Test Kitchen! This might just be the first pop-up restaurant ever in Ward 8 and that is pretty exciting. Hosted by Nurish, Think Local First, ARCH Development Corporation, The HIVE 2.0, LUMEN8Anacostia, and Eat Shop Live Anacostia! Based loosely on the GreyDC model and building off the foundations of StartUp Kitchen, StartUp Market is a temporary one-day market that provides a venue for food and craft entrepreneurs to sell their products, network with other vendors, and build a customer following. Just like the Kitchen model, consumers will be asked to provide feedback on products. Existing retail and food entrepreneurs will provide feedback day-of by judging the StartUpStar competition. StartUp Market gives Made in DC producers an opportunities to test drive their concepts and grow their business at minimal risk.

The first StartUp Market will be held December 1, 2012 at The Hive 2.0 in Anacostia!
