DDOT to Install Traffic Signals at New Ramp Intersections Along 11th Street, SE

(Washington, D.C.)  The District Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the northbound and southbound lanes of 11th Street, SE between O Street, SE and Good Hope Road, SE overnight Wednesday, August 29 and Thursday, August 30.  Motorists will encounter single lane closures starting at 8 pm, followed by 20-minute intermittent stoppages beginning after 10 p.m. on August 29 and at 12 a.m. on August 30.  All lanes will be reopened by 5 a.m. each following morning.  The lane closures and intermittent traffic stoppages will allow DDOT to install traffic signals for two new ramp intersections along 11thStreet.

Electronic signs will be in place to provide motorists advanced notice of the scheduled stoppages.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.

This closure is in addition to the previously publicized off-peak closures of the 11th Street bridges, related ramps, local streets, Southeast/Southwest Freeway and I-295/DC 295.
