11th ST BRIDGE TRAFFIC ADVISORY


11th Street Inbound Freeway Bridge (I-695 WB) Exit Ramp to M Street, SE and the Navy Yard to be Closed Overnight July 25

Closures Scheduled to Start at 10 p.m. and Continue Through 5 a.m. the Following Day

DDOT to Restripe Lanes on the 11th Street Inbound Freeway Bridge

(Washington, D.C.) The District of Department of Transportation (DDOT) will close the exit ramp from the 11th Street Inbound Freeway Bridge (I-695 WB) to M Street, SE and the Navy Yard overnight on Wednesday, July 25. 

Motorists will encounter a single right lane closure on the 11th Street Inbound Freeway Bridge (I-695 WB) beginning at 8 pm followed by full closure of the exit ramp to M Street, SE and the Navy Yard at 10 pm. 

All lanes will be reopened by 5 am the following morning. The road closures will allow DDOT to restripe lanes on the 11th Street Inbound Freeway Bridge (I-695 WB).

During the ramp closure, signed detours will be posted.

Detours
×         Motorists traveling on the northbound 11th Street Bridge seeking access to M Street, SE and the Navy Yard will be detoured to the 8th Street, SE exit, onto I Street, SE and then onto 8th Street, SE.
Electronic signs will be in place to provide motorists advanced notice of the scheduled detour.
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen conditions, this work will be rescheduled and an updated advisory will be distributed.

This closure is in addition to the previously publicized off-peak closures of the 11th Street bridges, related ramps, local streets, Southeast/Southwest Freeway and I-295/DC 295.
