A message from the Ward 8 Farmers Market

Let's Welcome Curbside Cupcakes!

If you spend time downtown [or Anacostia :) ]  at lunchtime, you've seen the pink truck: You've seen the lines.  Maybe you have tried it.  Well it turns out that popular food trucks CAN cross  bridges and this one will come be making an East of the River stop at Ward 8 Farmers Market on Saturday June 23.  9-2 at THEARC, 1901 Mississippi Ave. SE

Take the shuttle to the market.  We opened the Ward 8 Farmers Market Circulator Shuttle last week, and we look forward to seeing you stepping off to enjoy a visit while we take care of the driving and the gas.  The bus is free (and you can use it even if you don't stop at the market.). See our list of Shuttle Bus Stops.

By the way, we have some farmer-grown treats as well.  It's early summer and we have blueberries, cherries and maybe even cantelope.  If you think that it's pretty much the same as berries that have been picked too soon so they can get here from California, come on down.  We will prove you wrong.

Garden Path, our Amish meat farmer, is bringing down chicken wings, breasts, and roasters.

And don't forget to visit our friends at the Field to Fork NetworkLearn how you can participate in community gardens.
