Volunteers wanted for Ward 8 + Ward 7 Summit

AmericaSpeaks is once again excited to announce that we are working with the D.C. Governement, specifically the Deputy Mayor of Economic Development and the Office of Planning. This summer AmericaSpeaks will be facilitating two meetings in the D.C. area and we are looking for table facilitators to volunteer their services.

The meetings are as follows:

Ward 8 Follow Up Summit, June 9th, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Malcolm X Elementary School, 1351 Alabama Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20032.
Table Facilitators are asked to be there from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  

Ward 7 Summit is July 14th, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Times are subject to change and the location is TBD 

Due to limited funds, stipends or expense reimbursement for Table Facilitators are not available for these two meetings. A toll-free conference number will be provided for the orientations.

Both Ward 7 and 8 are continuing to experience unprecedented change in many areas. For both of these Community Summits, community members will join Mayor Vincent C. Gray to give input on the many development projects being planned and considered in each of Ward 7 and Ward 8.

These two Summits are building off of the work done in Ward 8 starting in July of 2011 and the One City Summit  held in February of this year. We are thankful to you and the services you provide as we strive to strengthen participatory demogracy in D.C.
