ARCH Development Corporation remembers Chuck Brown

In August 2011, The Gallery at Vivid Solutions and VividSolutions DC Print Lab in historic Anacostia welcomed Chuck Brown, the Godfather of Go-Go, to view (Un)Lock It: the Percussive People in the Go-Go Pocket. The exhibition of photographs, documenting a slice of Go-Go’s history was photographed by Thomas Sayers Ellis.  During that visit, the legendary Brown captivated a room full of fans and friends with his candid tales of life as Go-Go’s pioneer, while maintaining a close and intimate relationship with his audience.

Those in attendance recall his frankness, his warmth, and his unassuming nature. All were friends.
