The Ward Eight Democrats would like to invite you to participate in two (2) upcoming Candidates Endorsement Forums. Both forums will be held at The Imagine Southeast Public Charter School (old Congress School) located at 3100 Martin Luther King Avenue SE, Washington, DC. The forums will begin promptly at 12PM.
On Saturday, February 18 we will be conducting our Election Year 2012 Candidate's Endorsement Forum for positions of At-large Member of DC City Council and US Shadow Representative. Please note that although the positions for Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives (Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton) and U.S. Shadow Representative (Nate Bennett-Fleming) are unopposed each candidate has been invited to briefly address the audience.
On Saturday, March 17 we will be conducting our Election Year 2012 Candidate's Endorsement Forum for position of Ward 8 Member of the DC City Council. Each of the candidates have been invited to participate in this event: Marion Barry, Darrell Gaston, Jacque D. Patterson, Sandra Seegars, and Natalie Williams. Journalist and Channel 7 News Reporter Sam Ford has been confirmed as the moderator for this event.
We hope that all registered Democrats take this opportunity to hear from each candidate to see where they stand in the issues that are important to you and your community. Ballots will available starting at 12PM and voting will cease at exactly 2PM. You will need to present your photo ID or voter registration card to cast your vote. Note that the candidate who receives 60% of the vote will receive the endorsement.
