Perhaps our invites got lost in the mail? Calvary holds fundraiser for 'Good Hope Kitchen.'

This just keeps getting stranger and stranger. Calvary may not be talking to Anacostia but that is not keeping them from continuing to raise money in the name of their Anacostia project. In case you didn't know (and you probably didn't because we weren't invited) Calvary is in nearing the end of their fundraising campaign, 'Good Hope Kitchen: 100 days to 100k'  yet despite numerous requests they have not been able to spare one of those days for the people of Good Hope (or Anacostia, or the ANC, or one sharp as a tack real estate reporter).

I suppose the residents of Anacostia (and their questions) don't make for a good photo op.

From the December 14th post on  Calvary's blog, Calvary Comments:
Last Thursday, Calvary supporters gathered at the offices of Altria Group, Inc. for the 2011 Holiday Give Back. This year, this special holiday reception benefitted Calvary’s Good Hope Kitchen: 100 Days to $100K program.
With the help of corporate sponsors, attendees, and donors, the event raised over $12,000 to build and fill the Good Hope Kitchen at Calvary’s new home in Anacostia. The Good Hope Kitchen will make it possible for women to have not only healthy, home-cooked meals, but cooking classes, supported employment opportunities and much more.
Honorable Bennie Thompson and Honorable Ed Perlmutter both spoke at the event, along with Calvary’s Executive Director, Kris Thompson.

NFL Alumni Gary Clark, Ed Simmons, Ravin Caldwell, Clarence Vaughn, and John Booty also joined us at the event. Ravin and John helped auction off a signed football and a ticket to attend Sunday’s Redskins game with Ravin.
Corporate sponsors including 3 Click Solutions, Altria, BP America, Inc., Chic Productions, and Kiernan Group Holdings, and Nelnet Foundation offered their support to make the Holiday Give Back possible. We would also like to thank the Holiday Give Back Host Committee for their assistance in putting on this successful event for Calvary.
