Dear Parents, Students and Friends of the Community,

Thank you for supporting The Village Connection, Inc.  We have partnered with Matthews Memorial Baptist Church (MMBC) Youth Ministry and Transcend Academy (TA) to provide the youth in our community with programs, activities and opportunities they need to succeed.  Listed below is a brief Calendar of Events for ourCollege Bound/Workforce Preparedness Initiative.  Starting November 19th - see below our upcoming events:

FAFSA/SAT Workshop  &

Information Session for our HBCU/Ivy League College Tour,   (Date: April 26 & 27th)
This workshop will discuss strategies in taking the SAT, along with strategies and instructions for filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).  We encourage 8th through 12th grade students to attend; as well as parents.
Information Session I - We will discuss our upcoming HBCU/Ivy League College Tour.  Space is limited for College Tour: First Come First Serve.

Information Session for HBCU/Ivy League College Tour,

Information Session II:  This will be a continuation of our discussion for our upcoming  HBCU/Ivy League College Tour.  Parents feel free to make payments on this date to secure your son/daughter’s seat on the tour. Space is limited for College Tour: First Come First Serve.

CAPITOL HILL TOUR
We will be touring the Capitol.  The discussion will be on the three branches of government (local, state and federal) and how the government affects you as a citizen. This activity is a community service event and students will receive community service hours (contingent upon a written essay).  Space is limited.  12 slots only: First come; First serve basis

ANNUAL NETWORKING EVENT
Annually we gather as a group with high school students 8th – 12th grade & college students to discuss some of the accomplishments of our village scholars. In order to take part in this event, you must RSVP your attendance. (Space is limited -Meal served)

WE ARE IN NEED OF MORE MENTORS; COME OUT TO SIGN UP TO MENTOR A YOUTH IN THE COMMUNITY!!!   We hope to see Parents, Grandparents, Guardians, and Neighbors along with our sons and daughters in the community.  Registration/application process will be discussed for Program.  (See attached flyer).
