Open to most of Ward 5, 7 & 8!

Intake scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays promptly at 9:30am.
Benefits of trainees:
·        NCCER (National Center for Construction Education & Research) certification
·        First Aid, CPR and OSHA 10 certification
·        Green elective track in (can include Green Advantage or Smart Meter Installation)
·        Hands-on and classroom training with team projects
·        Individualized job placement assistance and career coaching
·        Private career fair and other employer networking events


Eligibility Requirements   
Selection will be based on applicant’s ability to fulfill and show proof of the following qualifications:

  1. Be 18 years of age or older and a District of Columbia resident (other residency restrictions apply- please call if you need an address verified)
  2. Ability to complete a 10-week course; 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday – Friday
  3. Earn a CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems) math and reading assessment at a 6th grade or higher level
  4. Access to reliable transportation to come to training
  5. Must pass an initial drug screening and remain drug free
  6. Must be able to stand for long periods of time and work in confined (small) spaces, lift, push, pull or carry 50 pounds
  7. Other barriers to securing employment  (TANF, Food Stamps, etc)

What do you need?
o Social Security Card or Birth Certificate
o Valid Government issued Photo ID
o Proof of DC residency (government issued photo ID with DC address, utility bill with your name and home address, lease agreement, shelter letterhead, etc.)-don’t have any of these? We can still help….
o Official High School Diploma, GED, College Degree, or Transcripts(not required)
o Copy of Resume (typed or handwritten)
o DC Police Report (dated within 60 days of intake session)
o Selective Service Registration (www.sss.gov)
