The Obama administration has proposed delaying construction of a new Federal Emergency Management Agency headquarters at St. Elizabeths, a possible blow to economic development efforts in Southeast D.C.
The Department of Homeland Security’s fiscal 2012 budget request released Monday calls for the deferral of the headquarters and “other office co-locations.” It is not clear what those additional locations are; DHS officials could not immediately be reached for comment.
