Feb 28: TOWN HALL EVENT TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL TOOLS TO D.C. PARENTS

RSVP's aren't required but are strongly encouraged!

On Monday, February 28, education and community leaders as well as parents and students will gather for a Town Hall event on parent engagement. The evening will feature clips from the award-winning documentary, WAITING FOR “SUPERMAN” and an audience Q&A and panel discussion moderated by author and Time magazine contributor, Amanda Ripley focusing on providing information and tools for parents to better navigate the DCPS system as well as other educational options. Following the program, attendees will be able to further explore educational choices and speak with local representatives of several community youth and school organizations at an “Action Center” which will provide materials and information about many local programs and facilities.

Additionally, there will be volunteers on site to assist parents with submissions for the District’s Out of Boundary Enrollment, which are due by 11:59 p.m. on February 28. This process allows parents of students in D.C. Public Schools to pursue enrollment opportunities outside their assigned neighborhood school.
