Volunteers Wanted: Spread some holliday cheer at St. Elizabeths this year
Join us for Christmas Day at Saint Elizabeths Hospital
Founded in 1855, Saint E’s provides residential services to adults with mental disorders who require psychiatric hospitalization to recover and return to the community.
WHAT? In the spirit of the holidays, Saint E’s is seeking volunteers to socialize with individuals in care on December 25th. Volunteers may work one or both shifts – 10:00 am to 1:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Activities will include playing board games, cards, basketball, caroling, socializing and serving a Christmas meal.
WHERE? Saint Elizabeths Hospital is located at 1100 Alabama Avenue SE in Washington, D.C. and is walking distance from Metro (Green Line) or easy to reach by car. Parking is free.
WHO? The women and men at Saint Elizabeths Hospital come from a variety of backgrounds and cultures. Many do not have family or friends to spend time with them. That’s why volunteers are so important, especially during the holidays. YOU can give our folks some undivided attention, which is the best holiday gift.
