Wed, Oct 20: Washington Post invites you to their townhall meeting "What Will a Change in Leadership Signify for Washingotn, D.C. and its Residents?

Greetings -

On Wednesday, October 20, The Washington Post will host a Town Hall aimed at connecting DC residents, DC based business owners and community groups with members of the newsroom to discuss the future of DC. It will be a great opportunity for the community to meet reporters who cover local news and discuss hot topics affecting the city, including the mayors race, education, community service, economic development, and much more. See details below and flyer attached.

I would like to extend an invitation for you to attend. You are also free to extend this invite to others. The more people involved, the better the discussion.

'The Path Forward: What will a Change in Leadership Signify for Washington, D.C. and its Residents?'

New Season...New Mayor...New DC? Join The Washington Post's top reporters and editors for a panel discussion and Q &A session as they tackle the question, 'What lies ahead for the District?' From infrastructure investments to education, several topics will be explored by staff writers Henri Cauvin (Social Services), Jonathan O’Connell (Capital Business), Elizabeth Razzi (Real Estate), Nikita Stewart (Politics), Bill Turque (D.C. Schools), and Robert 'Dr. Gridlock' Thomson (Transportation). Attendees will also hear from Post pollster Jon Cohen as he explores the twists and turns of public opinion in the city. The town hall will be moderated by Metro Columnist Robert McCartney and will feature an introduction from The Post’s Local Editor Emilio Garcia-Ruiz. Attendees will also receive information on how to get their story in front of key writers and editors at The Washington Post.

Hosted in partnership with The D.C. Public Library the town hall meeting will take place at Watha T. Daniel-Shaw Branch Library on Wednesday, October 20 from 6:30p.m. - 8p.m. The Watha T. Daniel-Shaw Branch Library is located at 1630 7th Street, N.W., across from the Shaw Metro station.
