Lunch Time Tutor: Chew on This...
Serve as a volunteer lunchtime reading buddy at Hart Middle School in Ward 8, Southeast DC.
Contribute to the youth in your neighborhood. Help increase student literacy and numeracy by serving as a lunchtime reading buddy.
With 50,000 volunteers in 3,200 public schools across the country, Communities in Schools (CIS) is the nation's largest drop-out prevention organization, helping kids stay in school so they can graduate and succeed in life.
Volunteers will serve as tutors to middle school students on a one-to-one basis for between 45 minutes and an hour, at least once a week, during the school day. The time of the tutoring is from 11:30 to 12:30.
Training will be provided by CIS.
