Off-Peak Travel Hour Lane Closures Possible from April 19 to May 7


On 11th Street Bridge, Adjacent Portions of DC 295/I-295 and Local Streets


One lane closed and parking restricted on portions of 11th, I, K, M, N, and O Street SE,


Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and Good Hope Road SE,


Intersections of 11th with K and I Streets SE, 12th with M and I Streets SE




WASHINGTON, DC – Weekdays from Monday, April 19 to Friday, May 7, contractors for the District of Columbia Department of Transportation (DDOT) will conduct a variety of work for the 11th Street Bridge Project requiring off-peak-hour lane closures on the 11th Street Bridge, adjacent portions of DC 295/I-295 and some local streets.




From 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday closures may include:


· The left lane of the inbound 11th Street Bridge.


· One lane and the shoulder in each direction of DC295/I-295 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Howard Road.

· One lane on I Street SE between 12th and 10th Street SE (with temporary no parking allowed).


· The left lane on K Street SE between 12 and 11th Street SE (with temporary no parking allowed).


· The right lane on southbound 11th Street SE between G and O Street SE (with temporary no parking allowed).


· The right lane on westbound M Street SE between 12th and 10th Street SE.


· The left lane on westbound N Street SE between 12th and 11th Street SE.


· The right lane on eastbound O Street SE between 111h and 12th Street SE.


· The right lane on westbound/northbound Good Hope Road between 13th Street SE and Anacostia Drive (with temporary no parking allowed).


· One lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE between the 11th Street Bridge and Good Hope Road.


· Half the Intersection of K Street SE and 11th Street SE (all traffic movements will be maintained).


· Half the Intersection of M Street SE and 12th Street SE (all traffic movements will be maintained).


· The left lane on 11th Street southbound between K Street and M Street, SE.


· The left sidewalk will be closed on K Street between 11th and 12th Streets, SE.


· Half of the intersection of 11th Street with I Street (all traffic movements will be maintained).


· Half of the intersection of 12th Street with I Street (all traffic movements will be maintained).


· The right lane on Southeast/Southwest Freeway westbound in the vicinity of the 8th Street Ramp.




From 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Monday through Friday:


· One lane and the shoulder in each direction of DC295/I-295 between Pennsylvania Avenue and Howard Road may be closed.




During the closures, contractors will conduct drainage inspection work, barrier installation, line striping, equipment relocation, sign work and various other construction activities. Closures may be subject to change due to weather or other unforeseen conditions.
