 March Art Salon | Sojourn: The DNA of Perserverance
 
 
Presented through the arts, Black History and Women's History months
will be celebrated at the Historical Society of Washington on Thursday, March 11th.
 Art Salon this month presents an acknowledgement, display and conversation of transcendence
above and beyond the struggles of history through today.  
 
Art Salon is modeled after the salons of the late 19th century
to inspire and provoke the minds of the creative community.
 
 
Performances by:
Dolores Kendrick, Poet Laureate of the District of Columbia
Holly Bass
, Contemporary artist
The Saartjie Project
, female artist collective
 Artwork by:
Solomon Wondimu, visual artist 
Dr. Floyd Coleman, Current Exhibition, Form & Content
 
Art Salon will be hosted in tandem with an artist talk and guided tour of
Form & Content: Selected Works by Floyd Coleman.  Highly regarded for his art
historical scholarship and art criticism, Dr. Coleman will lead a small group through
his exhibition, which traverses forty years of dynamic artwork he created as a scholar
and professor.
