The Executive Director is the principal on-site staff responsible for coordinating all program activities and volunteers, as well as representing the organization locally, regionally and nationally as appropriate. Individual must be sensitive to design and historic preservation issues and to various other issues confronting a range of constituencies.
Job Requirements:
The Executive Director must be a self-starter, entrepreneurial, imaginative, well organized and capable of functioning effectively in an independent environment. The position reports to a volunteer Board of Directors.
Excellent people, written/verbal communication and computer skills are essential as is a minimum education of at least a 4-year college degree. Work experience is acceptable and will be taken into consideration.
Education and/or experience in one or more of the following areas are desirable:
commercial district management, economics, finance, public relations, marketing, planning, business administration, public administration, and fund raising and small business development.
