Pardon me, did anyone lose a boat?
I never would have thought I would see the day when someone would just abandon a BOAT on a public street but then again these are tough economic times...sometimes a person just has to cut back on the expenses, especailly boat related expenses.
One morning about six weeks ago a B-O-A-T just seemed to magically appear on the 2900 block of 2nd Street SE in Congress Heights. Concerned citizens including ANC 8C02 SMD Commissioner Dion Jordan placed many, many calls to the City to have the BOAT removed from the street. Abandoned boats must be a rare occurence for the DC goverment as well because although PARKING enforement (this just keeps getting better and better) came out and slapped a great big "TOW" sticker on the BOAT the BOAT remained "docked" on the street for another month.
Finally Parking Enforcement (or perhaps the Coast Guard) came out and removed the BOAT from the street. No idea where they were taking the boat but perhaps the boat will find its way to the big habour in the sky. Until then The Advoc8te is going to keep an eye out for any abandoned planes, golf carts or horses.
The Advoc8te would like to thank Commissioner Jordan for the cool photo.
